Our history

Socapex Ponsot is founded by Henri Ponsot. Henri Ponsot creates SOCAPEX Ponsot, in Suresnes, located near Paris. M.Ponsot was a diplomat and then became an entrepreneur.

Move from Suresne to Cluses in Haute Savoie.

The first products for aviation. Since its creation, Socapex's core business is the design and manufacturing of electrical equipement for the aviation industry.

Socapex is purchased by a large French group, Thomson

Socapex starts manufacturing its first connectors : the TEI Series 58, a serie of military connectors used by the USA during the WWII.

Serie SL61 launch. Socapex rejuvenates the Radio-Air connectors by launching the SL61 Series for the military market.

Serie 127/HE8 launch. Socapex develops the HE8 series for military and aerospace markets.

Socapex supplies helmets to the French Air Force & headsets to news presenters & reporters on French TV.

The machining, screw machining, molding and plating workshops are installed in a new 14,000m2 building.

Socapex is positioned on the armament, military aeronautics and telecommunications markets.

Launch 38999 Series III

Amphenol buys Socapex from Thomson. Amphenol, world leader in military/aeronautical connectors and owner of the connector manufacturer Bendix.

Financial difficulties and reorganization

Transfert of the headquarters to Thyez

The 3 sites of Ampenol Socapex : Thyez, Dole, Courbevoie

Launch CTOS Fiber Optics connectors
