Yes, you can mix both RVPX standard and RVPX Evolution 1 or 2 on the same board. For example you can use a standard RVPX connector for P0/P1 and an RVPX evolution connector for P2.

To reach 32Gb/s performances, module and backplane connectors integrate smaller compliant contacts for increase Si performance (modified footprints vs existing/legacy VITA46 connectors).
RVPX Evolution 2 are still intermateable with existing/legacy VITA 46 connectors.

To reach 16Gb/s performances, module connector has a modified footprint and utilizes smaller compliant contacts for increased SI performance. RVPX Evolution 1 are still intermateable with existing/legacy VITA 46 connectors
Backplane connector is the legacy connector - therefore no changes are necessary on the backplane.
