<p>To increase the sealing of your RJ45 receptacle, you have two different options :</p>
<ul>
<li>You can use a RJ45 receptacle with a backshell</li>
<li>You can use a RJ45 sealed or hermetic receptacle</li>
</ul>
<p>Increasing the sealing of your receptacle will protect your system against ambient influences. Dust and water or moisture are a constant hazard especially in outdoor applications.</p>

The RJF RB is an industrial Ethernet RJ45 connection system designed to withstand harsh environments. This system is sealed against fluids and dust, and is resistant to shock, vibration and traction, making it an ideal solution for a wide range of applications, such as wireless base stations, industrial process control, robotics, and tele-maintenance. The RJF RB connection system is easy to install, with no cabling operation required in the field, and no tools needed.
The RJF RB connection system is capable of data transmission at 10 BaseT, 100 BaseTX, and 1000 BaseT networks, with Cat 5e per TIA/EIA 568B and Class D per ISO/IEC11801, and Cat6 per TIA/EIA 568B and Class E per ISO/IEC 11801. It features a reverse bayonet coupling, RJ45 cordset retention in the plug, and a minimum of 500 mating cycles.
The RJF RB is designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, with sealing rated at IP68, salt spray resistance of over 1000 hours, fire retardant and low smoke properties, and thermal shock resistance. The operating temperature range for this system is -40degC to +85degC. With the RJStop system, the RJF RB connection system allows for the use of a standard RJ45 cordset in a metallic plug, providing protection against shock, dust, and fluids.
