LUX-BEAM™ #12 description

Amphenol Socapex's LUX-BEAM™ #12 termini is a reliable and innovative solution for optical communication in harsh environments. The single expanded beam termini allows for easy upgrades from traditional optical physical contact technology to contactless technology. It is compatible with cavity #12 MIL-DTL-38999 series III TV/CTV, EN3645 EN 4165 (SIM), and accepts ARINC 801 or dia. 1.25 mm optical termini. The LUX-BEAM™ #12 provides superior performance with a surface expanded bundle of over 140X, making it less sensitive to dust and debris. Its contactless coupling is not subject to degradation of performance due to friction, making it easier to clean and maintain than traditional butt joint termini. It also offers easy installation and replacement as a FUSE without requiring any optical wiring.
Furthermore, the LUX-BEAM™ #12 allows for realignment for compatibility with multisource connectors, and it is possible to mix it with electrical contact for hybrid solutions. With its exceptional features, the LUX-BEAM™ #12 is ideal for various applications, including military avionics, battlefield communication, grounded vehicles, and industrial use.

What is the difference between lc and mpo connectors?
-LC Connector : Lucent connector is a square connector with latch mechanism. It is equipped with an optical termini with an o.d. 1.25mm
LC connector is smaller than SC connector. Where you can place 1 SC connector, you can place 2 LC connector. The density is double.
-MPO : MPO is rectangular connector equipped with an MT ferrule for 12 or 24 fiber

What is the insertion loss of an expanded beam connector?
- The insertion is less than 2.0db for one wavelength or 2.5db for 2 wavelength.
